The high density SAS-to-SAS JBOD enclosures house either SAS or SATA-II drives, combing the performance and connectivity benefits of SAS drives, and also having cost advantages with SATA drives. The J1000-R provides fault-tolerant links across separate SAS domains, while the J1000-S provides a single, straight-through data path.
